After found support in the 1.1480 area, EUR / USD failed to recover above the 1.1530 threshold. This has revived the decline, and we are back to the 1.1450 area. Note the quick wick to 1.1515 which is due to a break and downward acceleration of USD / JPY.

However, EUR / USD has quickly corrected downward. This shows that the pair will have trouble bouncing in the very short term.
The risks therefore seem more downward, and this should remain the case as we move below 1.1530.

During the European session, the put level was being worked out well, but with the arrival of the Americans, the situation changed. The sharpest upward impulse served as a good opportunity to another approach in the opposite direction for major traders. There were too many traders in the market inorder to buy the euro "at a discount".
Such a maneuver clearly had an impact on the changes in the optional trend.
And the trend changed in the opposite direction. At 1.1550, call orders dominated, which naturally affected the price.
Before the breakout of 1.1474 occurred, the growth option remained relevant, but after the breakout and consolidation lower, further growth, at least until the European session, would be unlikely.

The Euro initially fell during the week but found enough support near the 1.11 level to turn around and bounce rather significantly. By forming the hammer on the weekly chart, this does suggest that we are trying to find a bottom.
That being said, if you are shorter term trader you probably will continue to go back and forth between the 1.1250 level and the 1.11 level. Until we break out of this range though, it’s going to be difficult to place a trade for any significant length of time. This is essentially a short-term traders type of market but I also recognize that we are trying to form a bottom. If we were to break through the 1.1250 level, then the market could go as high as the 1.1450 level or even the 1.15 handle. If we can break above there down the road, that would be the beginning of an uptrend in this market that should last quite some time.

On a break down, the market will then go looking towards the 1.10 level for support. If that fails, then we could see a bit of a “flush” in the Euro going forward in a bit of panic. In general, it looks as if we are trying to stabilize.

My pending SELL LIMIT at 1.2765 was just activated and seem to run on the right way with the market. The price now is staying on R3 level of today pivot point, therefore, of course everything can happen in this forex market, but the opportunity for correction is over, as it will be the rally of retracement now, and from now price will move down with the main trend.

EUR/USD consolidates rally to 1.12 handle
EUR/USD has soaked up the European elections ahead of a U.K. and U.S. holiday making for a likely quiet Monday all around. The pair just taking a quick glance at the positioning data for the week ending 21 May 2019.
From a technical point of view, the pair settled around the 61.8% retracement of its latest bearish move, measured from 1.1263 to the fresh multi-year low set Friday at 1.1106. In the daily chart, the potential upward seems limited, as, despite the pair settled above its 20 SMA, it continues developing far below the 100 and 200 SMA, both far above the current level and maintaining their bearish slopes. Technical indicators in the mentioned chart aim modestly higher, currently in neutral levels just around their midlines. Shorter term, and according to the 4 hours chart, the technical picture is quite alike, as the pair settled above its 20 and 100 SMA but was rejected by sellers aligned around the 200 SMA, while technical indicators hold within positive levels, but having already lost their positive momentum.

EUR/USD is battling the 200 Simple Moving Average on the four-hour chart while trading below the 100 SMA and the 50 SMA. Momentum remains to the upside, but the Relative Strength Index is off the highs.

Overall, the technical picture is mixed.

Some support awaits at 1.1190, which was a swing high last week. 1.1165 provided support in mid-May, and 1.1135 was a low point earlier that month. The 2019 trough of 1.1107 is next.

Resistance awaits at 1.1225 which capped the currency pair twice in mid-May. It is followed by 1.1250 that held it down earlier and then by the all-important triple-top at 1.1265.

The shared currency failed to cut through the 4-hour chart 200-candle moving average (MA) resistance of 1.1214 on Monday and is now trading on the defensive at 1.1182.

The GfK's Consumer Confidence index for June – a leading index that measures the level of consumer confidence in economic activity – is forecasted to remain unchanged at 10.4. The data is scheduled for release at 06:00 GMT today.

An above-forecast reading could bode well for the common currency, helping it capitalize on the short-term bullish reversal confirmed on Friday.

A big miss on expectations, however, would accentuate concerns of deeper slowdown in the Eurozone’s biggest economy and would send the EUR lower. The short-term bullish outlook would be invalidated if the spot closes today below Friday’s low of 1.1172.

Before the breakout of 1.1474 occurred, the growth option remained relevant, but after the breakout and consolidation lower, further growth, at least until the European session, would be unlikely.

EUR/USD enjoys upside momentum on the four-hour chart and trades above the 50 Simple Moving Average. On the other hand, it lost the 200 SMA and the Relative Strength Index is looking heavy.

Euro/dollar has some support at 1.1165 which was a low point in mid-May. It is followed by 1.1135 which was a swing low early in the month, and finally by the all-important 2019 trough of 1.1107.

Some resistance awaits at 1.1190 which capped the currency pair last week. Further up, the weekly high of 1.1218 is already more significant resistance. 1.1250 and 1.1265 held down EUR/USD during May and are the next lines to watch.

Bears are taking a breather and consolidating within narrow range in early Thursday’s trading, following three-day fall after upside rejection at 1.1215 and failure to close above falling 30SMA.
Bearish momentum continues to strengthen on daily chart, with converged 5/10SMA’s attempting to form bear-cross maintain negative technical outlook.
Weak pound on Brexit fears, strengthening dollar and concerns over global trade slowing, also weigh.
Bears eye base at 1.1111/07, break of which would trigger stops parked below and spark stronger bearish acceleration towards psychological 1.10 support.
Meanwhile, the pair may hold in consolidation as bears face headwinds from bids at 1.11 zone, but upside attempts are expected to be limited and ideally capped by converged 5/10SMA (1.1163), which guard converging 20/30 SMA’s (1.1182/85).
Only break above 1.1215 (recovery high posted on Monday) would neutralize bearish bias and signal stronger recovery.
