The US dollar fell further on Tuesday on the prospects of monetary easing by the Federal Reserve. The U.S. Federal Reserve last week signalled it would cut interest rates before year-end. From a technical perspective, nothing seems to have changed much for this pair except that bulls may now wait for a continuous move above the 1.1400 figure before positioning for any further short-term appreciation steps. Above the mentioned level, the pair seems ready to test March's monthly swing high, around the 1.1445-50 region - approaching the 50% Fibonacci retracement of the decline of 1.1803-1.1107.

On the other hand, the trend-channel resistance breakpoint is declining, around the 1.1330-25 region, possibly continuing to protect the downside directly. Failure to maintain the mentioned support might trigger some technical sales and accelerate further corrective decline towards the 23.6% Fibo level - around the 1.1275-70 region, with some intermediate support near the 1.1300 round number.

The euro/dollar is hovering around 1.1355. The previous session it extended its gains all the way up to 1.1412 before starting a modest retreat from that point and continuing its decline.

The euro/dollar held support at its 200-day moving average, currently at 1.1347. Interestingly, the exchange rate head and shoulders of the shape of the neck line was also broken in the previous trading day.
