Banks usually close during the period for few days ... During this period, there is less price flunctuations which will not yield much profit ... in short on the major festivals people choose the withdraw the capital and the overall market growth is very slow.

it's not much like that , there are days where the volatility of the market is very low , as explained by anytime. during these days like festival days , we may not get expected result as the market won't move much and mostly everyone in the market choose to stay out in such conditions . after all it's the price movement that makes us profit if it's low we won't get much profit .

Yes, i agree the festival period is not good for trading. Experienced traders keep eyes on the economic calenders to watch the banks holidays also and they do not trade during holidays.I also do not like to trade in evening timings because of low price movements.

Trading in December is not much of a problem if your targets are not too high. Most of the time the trend ranges and you can always get 20 pips daily during the holiday period. If however there are strong economic movers like what is happening now with the Eurozone crises, then one has to be real careful trading during this december period.
