The WTI Crude Oil markets spent the majority of Friday falling, but did get enough of a bounce from the $94 level in order to form a hammer. This is of course a bullish sign, and the market looks as if it wants to go higher as a result. However, I am a bit hesitant to go long at this point as the $96 level has a gap, which of course should be resistance as well.

The market will continue to have a bit of weight upon it, as the downtrend has been so strong. The sellers should still be in control overall, and the buying of this contract is going to be a short-term move in general. The market could have a nice bounce though, and I think that it could go as high as $98.50 if we get above the $96 level first

Buy: If the price of the 4 Hour close candle penetrates the R1 level perfectly (body candle is far from the upper limit of R1), then preparing to find the best Entry BUY position, you can also let your position reach the R2 level (the strongest resistance level at the moment) to see the market reaction to that level to rise again or not.
Sell: If the price of the 4 Hour close candle penetrates the S1 level, then prepare to find the best SELL Entry position, you can also let your position reach the S2 level (the strongest Support level right now) to see the market reaction to that level to get back down or not.

My setup for Pullback opportunity,
Sell: If the price of 4 Hour's close candle does not penetrate the R1 level (like forming a bear pin bar), then prepare to find the best Entry SELL position, but if the price reaches and breaks this level, then prepare for the cut loss. Applicable at R2 level as well.

Oil prices have the potential to continue rising today after yesterday hitting the highest level since the summer of 2015 with geopolitical risk sentiment in the Middle East especially in Saudi Arabia with the measures taken by the government to support an extension of production cuts. Also on this day investors are also waiting for a report on oil reserves from the American Petroleum Institute released at the end of trading hours that analysts expect will be a decline in oil, gasoline and refined oil reserves.

The nearest resistance level is seen at the 57.60 area, penetrating upwards from that area could trigger further upwards to the 58.00 area before targeting the 58.60 area. Meanwhile for the downside, the 57.00 area becomes the nearest support point, a break below that area should be able to reverse the trend to be bearish targeting the next support at 56.60 before aiming to 56.00.

As a result of these extremely severe sanctions, Iran’s economy is expected to contract by 9.5% in 2019 according to the IMF, further lower than its previous estimate of a 6% contraction. Meanwhile, real growth in GDP is expected to come in flat during 2020.

US President Donald Trump has fueled the market expectations by announcing that the United States is ahead of schedule to sign the first round of the United States and China trade deal before Xi and Trump meet in Chile next month. Moreover, Chinese officials also said that most main parts of the deal are already completed.

In addition, the Office of the US Trade Representative said Washington is thinking increasing specific tariff exclusions on $34 billion of Chinese imports. The positive trade progress boosted US stocks overnight but did not provide much support to the crude oil markets today.

The sluggish China data served as upwind for the crude oil markets during this week. Profits at Chinese industrial companies declined for the 2nd-straight month during September because producer prices continued unchanged

WTI Crude Oil Prices Decline Even After API Report Shows Decline in US Crude Stockpiles

On Wednesday, WTI crude oil prices are sliding lower for the third consecutive data on the back of API’s crude inventories report. At the time of writing, WTI crude oil is trading at around $55.23 per barrel.

According to the API report released on Tuesday, US crude stocks at the Cushing delivery hub in Oklahoma grew by 1.2 million barrels during the previous week. Overall, US crude inventories declined by 700k barrels last week to touch 436 million, going against economists’ forecast which was foe a rise of 494k barrels.

Weakening demand worries are back in focus as the global economic growth slows down as a fallout effect of the US-China trade war. Although both nations have signaled that negotiations towards an interim trade agreement are making progress, a US administration official indicated on Tuesday that it may take more time to finalize the deal.

WTI Crude Oil Edges Higher After China Data Disappoints, Hopes for Stimulus Measures Support

WTI crude oil prices are edging higher early on Thursday, trying to recover losses from the previous trading session on the release of the EIA crude inventories report from the US. At the time of writing, WTI crude oil is trading at around $55.18 per barrel.

Wednesday’s EIA report revealed an unexpected build in US crude inventories by 5.7 million barrels during the previous week, as opposed to economists’ expectations for a build of only 494k barrels for this period. This caused crude oil to close the session 0.9% lower.

However, early in the Asian session, weak PMI data out of China has driven a surprising boost in crude oil prices over rising expectations for additional stimulus measures from the government which could support oil demand. China saw factory activity contract for the sixth consecutive month while the services sector activity slid to the lowest level seen since February 2016 in October.
