short term is good for day traders who wish to keep collecting profits daily even if it is small profits, long term is for those in job who can sit on a trade for months to let it hatch into profits, even if they miss several hundred pips in between

every one trade with their own trading system. soem trader made their system for long term and some made for short term trading. they open and clsoe their trade on base singnal of trading system not base on chart profile.

each time frame does have a different candle time changes, it all depends on the time that we piih frae. but traders who play who play longterm certainly use the time frame above the h1.
