How many pips do you think is safe for SL ?

Brother I think you should place stop loss value according to support and resistance values..It should not be placed like the way your are placing..
You should have knowledge about support and resistance and then you have to place your stop loss and take profit

It depends of the trader itself, its his decision to set it depending on the balance he have in his account and how much money can he afford to lose but setting it below 50 pips is not the right option according to me. but i said it always depends on the trader

well it depends upon the need.But always its not wise to have like this TP=SL.
For beginners i recommend 2:1 ratio.
if TP is 100pips have SL as 50pips.So that if you lose a trade also,atleast the last trade's half profit will remain.

thanks for good advice guys, in my opinion risk reward 1:2 is good for all trader, not only for begginer. :) i use it too.

Yes that was right. There is no exact rule to determine how many pips which is good for all conditions. It will depend on condition and our style of trading (short-term trading, daily trading or long-term trading) because each trader will be different. And about ratio, I prefer to set SL point in higher than TP because SL is limit which describe that we made mistakes in analysis. If our SL is hitted several times, it means our analysis is not good enough.

There are no fixed amount that can be said as a good value because by hitting sl you always get losses.But it depends on you that how much loss your account can tolerate and also you have enough free margin to open another position.I usually do not risk more than 5% my equity on a single trade and mostly 2 trades at a time.

in my opinion each trader have their opinion about their stop loss point. such as for me 20 pips each trading is comfortable.

it's all true friends because we all have different targets at the base of the type itself if scapling traders will stop when they gain 20 pips or less while for longterm treder they will stop with a large pips

short trader different with long trader. for long trader they can hedge their posisition until several days. for scalping max is 1 hours.

Yes.SL input depends upon the type of trading too.The ratio i told is for normal swing traders.
But For Scalping i always feel that one should never provide SL since there are lot of chances to get SL triggered since its a very small value.
