you can monitor the market in start around 6-9 hour a day when to understand little bit about the market move then reduce the time and take brake 30 min on every 2-3 hour because if you monitor all the day then you getting bore very soon and your interest not build on the market and you are not know the market situation where the market moves.

Well i think a beginner needs lots of practice and time as a new trader don't know the basics of trading but i think a beginner should spend atleat 3 hours infront of the chart but don't sit 8 or 10 hours as it is very tiring and it will make you dull.

it is the experience of the 5 years trading and the 1 years trading are not same. and i hope when a trader just start then he need to all day long but after complete the primary level he need to less than 6 hour for real trading.
Still, it doesn't mean you should be glued in front of your pc a whole day long to compensate the 4 years difference, my friend. After all, if the pair you traded only active around noon to evening, then it will be useless for you to wait it out since dawn.

i think it is an important matter for a new comers in the forex, the success is depend on this matter directly, also according to the merit the time is varying ,i think the average is 8 hours.
may indeed be the needs of every trader is different. but certainly I think a beginner would need a longer time. because the beginner will analyze in a way that may make them longer. beginners because it has not really understand this forex trading well. according to my experience as a beginner is like that.

I Thank I am also a newbie and sometimes even up to 10 hours along the chart and how long should we take time to trade.........
traders should trade in productive hours and should learn about the productive hours of various currency pairs.
Trader must have discipline in their trading, they can discipline too to manage the time to trades.
Conclution, we should dicipline so we can manage our times.
Thats including with time management .

It is not necessary to spend more time infront of the charts because once we have made the analysis and set our trade right with the implementation of proper money management which involves justified usage of risk : reward ratio then we can take some time off from the monitor and do other necessary things.

Now i still find it good to spend a few hours daily with regard to currency trading. It is better on your mental and real health. As outlined by experts 4 or 5 several hours daily currency trading do the job is best for the sake of trader and investing at the same time.

Beginners can freely decide how long to sit in front of the chart. But we should not mamaksakan ourselves, because we must pay attention to health. Trading should be a maximum of 8 hours, and we must prepare adequate rest periods.

Usually i spend about 2 or 3 hours in front of the chart..
but i think now,if u stay too long in front of the chart it is not good, because it can make u tired..
and after u feel tired,u can not longer make a good decision.
To spend less time in front of charts a trader should choose a larger time frame. Like if a trader is trading with H4 chart then he would have to see his charts after every four hours and in just 15 mints he can check the charts and can make trades. So in the whole day he will have a plenty of time of do other things.

we need to use good time management. it will be effective if we can choose a time, sit in front of chart and make analysis, open position just for few minute and still can get profit. and other time we can use for other activity like read news, forecast or prediction, posting comment here or doing other business. we also can spend sometimes for entertainment to stay relax when trading.

Taking time to trades depends on the market trends and your position to the market. We can't just say if we are tired then we just have to close our trades with no or less profits from it. We must have built plans first before entering a position in the market, analyze more and learn to be patience.

Need not wait for hours together in front of the system. Initially, try to place buy orders at support levels and sell orders at resistance level. That way you will get the feel of the market. You can improvise your strategy from then on by adding indicators and fine tuning them. I generally trade only for two or three hours a day. Once I take a position, I place the sell order, sl and leave for other works of mine. In most cases my target have been hit. In the initial stage I used to spend around 2-3 hours in the morning and around 2 hours in the evening.

I look the chart for above 10 mins to analyze about the market movements.I also look for the chart when my position is open.Sometimes, i set take profit and leave from platform to avoid tension.
10 minutes can be the time that a day trader stays in forex trading markets to perform their analysis. There are many charts and we traders can choose any chart and then make analysis in our trades using it.
well that is a great question. there was a time when i was making trades and then i used to sit in front of the screen and that was really painful because i could not make any other job done and then the trades were also getting bad but i changed and then made sure that i have the orders in place and then see the screen on and off

trader experience will determine the time of staying in front of chart, experienced trader will not stay long as he will take a quick decision if he will trade or not but beginner will stay for long time to look for the best time to trade or open an order and wait to make profits etc
I agree with you as experienced trader just watches the chart for some time for current market movements but performs his trade on the basis of his study and analysis of the market and not current chart movements.

Spending more time with the charts may not bring more profit to the traders , many traders just spend few hours with there terminal and still make money. If at all still you want to analyse the charts , better take a print out and study it offline to avoid the strain on the eyes while seeing the monitor.

That doesn't mean that away from your computers will make you much more profit, we have to keep our eyes close to the monitor especially when there are many news regarding the currency we trade with
If you want to make good profit on news hour then you need to expert on fundamental analysis. And if you have good fundamental analysis then you can make right decision for enter on market and on that time you can use stop loss and take profit point for more secure. If you use this tools then i think you don't need to keep your eyes on monitor for long time.

As a new trader, the more time you in front of the chart, the more the probability to become familiar and an expert trader.Furthermore, if your trading strategy is short term then you need to look to the chart for short time on the other hand if your trading strategy is long term then you have to give long time. However I look to the chart for 6 hours.

I think that you need to be in front of the charts all day until you have made the trades you want. There is no avoiding hard work and long hours in forex trading. Just because it is at home it does not mean it will be easy.

In order to avoid losses that would come as a result of over trading, a forex exchange trader should make sure that they do not spend a lot of time in front of their charts or in front of their computer systems.

why i only set my target only 10 pips in a day? i will answer this question
i think many trader set their tp is more than like me, so 10 pips in a day is approaching easy. i has prepare my money management and compounding table with profit target in ms.excel and i follow it, and from the compounding i will growth my lot size that suits with my equity. i just set 1% lot size from my equity. ex : i have $1000, so the maximum lot size is 1 lot. i pasted the table in wall of my bedroom, beside my computer. if i cant reach the target in a day and i get loss, i try to be patient and pending my target.

As more time you will stay in front of charts and will remain in the market as more you will loose and as less you will enter in the market as more you will win. It is my personal experience over the last 4 years.
Yes staying in front of charts in forex trading business for a long time is actually a bad idea because we can do it and it will cause over trading in us. We must only spend a reasonably short amount of time in charts in order to make sure that we traders do not start over trading.

it really depend upon the dealer himself whether or not he use different timeframe or not since this will surely have an effect on
the time which he will spend as you're watching chart. generally, an intra-day dealer will spend the maximum amount of 1 to be able to 4 several hours to monitor the event in the market.

Wow, that was great if you could be in front of chart only in 5-10 minutes because scalpers will need more than that time only. Sometimes, you must wait long time enough to wait the movement of price especially in Asian session which is slow movement. I experienced if scalping is not easy thing to do.

Yes, its true most of the newbies work on charts and sit in front of their computers whole the day. I think traders should trade in productive hours and should learn about the productive hours of various currency pairs. I prefer to trade 4 hours daily and these four hours are lap hours. It is the time when US session and London session over lap. And maybe we can keep checking the price for right entry point.

It truly takes time before we'd be ready to get rid of any analysis from the markets. therefore we've got to make sure concerning the basics and conjointly concerning the precise timings of the Entry into the markets.
This is needed in order that the ultimate gains begin flowing to USA and that we stay within the profitable trades.

As newbie I sit 5/7 hours in front of computer but only avg 50% time spend for Forex chart. besides this I spent some time for other works like economic journal, outsourcing and different webforex School. But I think 2~3 Hour/day is enough for a Expert trader. They need to spent time only for strategy make but very few time need for trading because after apply strategy do not need to watch chart all the time.

Actually i do not spent time consistently in front of monitor as i have some problem in my vision. Instead of it i usually visit the chart periodically. That s take at least three to four hour in a day to trade forex. Mostly i seriously take sit for trade monitor when different session overlap.

when on a normal working day forex traiding I start the game in the evening and that is only about 3-4 hours per day on 5 days in the forex market is open. but with the short time we must be smart to play SL and TP so that in case of very extreme moves we did not get menggalami penggurangan capital or balance large enough.
Within a day, my average was in front of about 4 hours chart. 4 hours does not take place on a continuous basis, but divided in some time. On the morning about 1 hour, during the day is also about 1 hour and at night usually online for about 2 hours.
my chart is open with my on time , when ever i sit in Forex my chart is always open , without chart i don't have put any order though the news follows , actually i like to trade in evening and with chart. and in between 11 p.m.

well it all depends on how long you always want to be infront of your trading platform, if you are a scalper you don't need to be their for several hours in a s much as you have your target then you can leave, there are some traders that trade long time immediately they get their set up complete like this they always place their orders and close thier trading platform

according to my personal view, to minimize our presence in front of the computer to watch the chart, it helps us to know in advance the criteria that we use system. Then we calculate approximately when the signal going out. So we're just looking at the chart when sinya of the system that we use will come out. Perhaps so that I can convey hope to help all traders. Regard :respect:

I have seen people who stick to the charts all day long. They won't leave charts even for a minute. But as far as I'm concerned, I don't stick to the charts whole day long. I don't see any point watching charts the whole day. The market doesn't keep on moving the entire day. And then, you shouldn't be in the market all the time as well. Set a target for yourself, and once the target is hit, you should simply step out of the market.

at the beginning stage you have to spend as much time as possible in front of the live chart so that you can be familiar with the pairs characteristic and the market movement. after getting experienced you need not to stick on the chart for long. you just open the chart several particular times a day and do you analysis and place order according to you decision.

There are still many traders who are in front of the chart more than 8 hours a day. trading is very tiring.seriously i will say that sitting before charts for 8hrs and analyzing it all over wont yield success.
Yes there are traders who even remain in front of charts more than 8 hours but it is not the right approach to deal with this market, we should trade according to a time schedule and i think the time of 4 hours is the best time to trade in a day.
