i am a part time time trader and usually i trade 4 hours a day.till now i am practicing by my demo account only.and recently i opened a real account. i am planning the same to do the trade in my real account also.and by my opinion it is not safe to be in front of the chart for the whole day
Yes you're right, trading each day you can escape to many things, but you need to do a weekly trading planing, in this condition it is very hard to analyze the market and become familiar with the market, but success requires much analysis.

I prefer to see the table in 12 minutes or more to better analyze the Forex market moves, and I also analyzes the graph as soon as I open surgery, but sometimes I put my and my TP and SL I leave.
we do not need to stay to long time in front of the computer, we just need to stay in front of the computer for the several time, i am just stay in front of the computer for about 4 hours to make the trading
I think we should not take much time to sit in front of carte.because there should be a confusion about this, so try to understand the fact in Forex. And follow these things.for me I'm use the analyze of the position and the places and then i close the table. so this is my method
Its good to know that you are doing trading with proper management, i don't have any daily target but i set my weekly target and my weekly target is to get 150 pips so that i try to reach this limit upto Thursday because i don't like to trade on Friday.
Mery khyal sy ye idea theek nahi hy, sometimes aisa hota hy k hum ak nazr dykh k he judge kr lyty hen k price kis trf move hony wali hy but mostly times hamen proper analysis karna prta hy tb hum prejudge krny k kabil hoty hen.
The real thing in trading is to predict the movement of chart and you can predict if you have good knowledge about chart and you spend enough time in front of chart, i usually wait for the strong signal, don't have fix time to observe.
Its ok to give 2 hours to forex trading if you are part time trader. Ma b part time trader hon aur ma 2 to 4 hour dyta hon forex trading ko. Chart k samny sirf analysis krny k lye bethta hon aur position lagany k bad jyada tar terminal ko minimize he rakhta hon.
Yeah it depends on trader that how much profit he or she wants, if a person is willing to earn only 10 pips per day like you then he needs to spend less time in front of chart if you wanna earn big then you will spend more time.

chart anlysis is all depended upon the which trading style u want to apply in ur forex trading..if one has many good experience and knowledge then he will follow existing trading style and spend less time on chart ......and concentrate on only already estlablished step to trade

I only use my time in front of the chart for 1 hour. because I use the Trendline strategy, so when I woke up in the morning I just draw a trendline on the chart, after that I stay put pending orders, the limit sell and buy limit, and also put a stop loss of course. after that's done I can do other activities.
I like to trade only 4 hours in a day and if my open position is in floating profits i increase my trading time according to the situation, other wise i trade only 4 hours in a day.
if a trader have discipline in their trading, they can discipline too to manage the time to trades.
so the conclution, we should dicipline so we can manage our times.
i think thats including with time management
why i only set my target only 10 pips in a day? i will answer this question
i think many trader set their tp is more than like me, so 10 pips in a day is approaching easy. i has prepare my money management and compounding table with profit target in ms.excel and i follow it, and from the compounding i will growth my lot size that suits with my equity. i just set 1% lot size from my equity. ex : i have $1000, so the maximum lot size is 1 lot. i pasted the table in wall of my bedroom, beside my computer. if i cant reach the target in a day and i get loss, i try to be patient and pending my target.
i dont agree with your opinion sis,
iam a scalper and iam not too often looked the chart continously, i just spend my time only one hour, even less than one hour. i focus in 4 pair, and maximum trade only 2 transaction in a day. my Tp is only 5 pip in one positon, so i set my target 10 pips in a day with 2 transaction. because of that i just spend a little time to trade.
iam not a professional trader friend, i am just newbie too
iam only want to try can be able manage my time because iam busy in my collage and activities , so i dont focus my mind in the chart in my daily activities.

i think stay in front of the chart about 1 until two hours is enough.
dont be too long in front of the chart, because it can make you get stress and that is not good way to doing analysis. you should manage your time also, you need a socialization not only in front of your computer.

we must have good time management. I think it would be very tiring if we are too long in front of the chart and will also interfere with our health, we also need the community and refreshing. trying to manage your time. I only trade a maximum of 3 hours a day. and it was pretty exhausting for me

because I was not a fulltime trader, so I only occasionally see the chart. But later when I've become a fulltime trader, maybe I can see the chart up to 8 hours for 1 day, because I love the scalping techniques.

now am not spend more time to watch the chart. . i set the alarm on my mobile for major news,
and on mt4 i set alert for on resistance and support level.
so .. when the price rate hit. mt4 given alert .. and when the major news time is arrive .. my mobile given alert. so that time i only follow the chart.
Once i go for the analysis and news and start my trade then its my goal to take atleast 20$ profit after taking that i close the trading its my daily schedule.

For starters there is still much puzzled to determine a suitable system with him. So there are still many traders who are in front of the chart more than 8 hours a day. trading is very tiring.
therefore, I would like to hear advice from the master of all for beginners like me, how long should we take time to trade?
I also new trader. I make trade with some amounts. So I did not observe long time trading chart in one day or two day. When i will go long trade with big amount than i follow long analysis report and chart.

it seems we need to choose long term of commerce also to reduce the stress in our of commerce because of the long-term trading may be we do not really feel the pressure of the daily market as the market moves so fast every day
yeah we do need to limit how our trading hours so that we are not tired in the trade we're doing because I think the tired condition will also be able to reduce our ability to trade well, especially our ability to analyze trade

150 pips in a week is a decent amount of target and if any trader manages to do so on regular basis then I think he is doing a good job. Also a trader need not look at the charts for long time as he needs to perform his trades based on his analysis and study .

It is true that if you have good understanding of the chart or indicators your trading would become more profitable and easier , but you need to know how to understand it and not spend long hours trying to study the chart only.Few minutes is good enough to study a chart.

in my view the best time for trading is when london and newyork session is overlapping.
i am trading at this time only and remaining time i give time to my study.
in these hours we can made a good profit in less time.

its vary from person to person, some people just sit for one an hour and could easily get the desirable pips, and some of them give whole time to trade but nothing gain, it depends on learning, and experience also might be possible to short our time taking for trading, but in start we have to give the long time to trade.

Usually from 8am to 10pm every trading day I check my chart. Its more on trying to check if theirs some unusual movement that have an effect to the current trend that will going to result for a reversal. Usually that's the main reason why I check the chart. For the big reversal or break out. Because reversal and breakout usually means minimum of 50 pips profits. That's why its important to wait for that big wave than to trade and earn 5 pips trade.
give it to the full time since I came in trading. sara time computer on rehta ha even night ma bhi. I sleep only 5 to 6 hour. and after that fir sa trading. trading become an addict to me. but I feel that I m not able to understand. Its too much difficult to me. k itna time denay k baad bi mja koi profit najar ni a raha. may be I have to leave the trading for ever.

I personally in doing forex business is probably about two to four hours in front of the chart with a view and analyze price movements in order to generate profits and minimize losses.
depending on the circumstances at that time if possible for longer in the front of the computer to analyze price movements then we will be much longer and wait for the right time to do the OP but if we're using a scalping strategy allows us to be more briefly conduct business transactions in forex this.
i think that the charts is like another charts experience in forex will learn you when you see the chart you remember that you have face this situation before just retur to the last chart and see what happened without analysis it again that make you avoid hard work.
trader before make any trade he must try to find the best money management according to the risk that he will use than make analysis before any trade if the money management tell you to wait the deal to close on ST and TP orders you must wait but if you follow the analysis without money managemnt you have to analysis the market for closing the deal too not only on opning the deal.

The time we spend on charts are to be calculated as per the movement of the charts now. may be we want to spent more time on charts sometimes where the market is moving in an unexpected way . infact it's different for all some guys can easily spot the trend while some take time to spot one.

BB is a good tool for a trader which helps in arriving at a good decision to trade, it clearly shows the condition of the market within a range. BB in combination with stochasitc and RSI can give a good idea to trade.
Thata the right way to do trading. We need occasional breaks to freshen our minds, Moreover our eyes need relaxation. Constantly gazing on the monitor screen take a toll on our eyes and eye problems are bound to come. And its really a tough task to keep our eyes in good shape while trading daily

The best method is to check out the chart for half an hour, in regular intervals of time and Don"t keep your eyes on the chart for 4 hrs or more, mostly for beginners its not the best idea. Check the chart for half an hour or one hour and draw some trend line, which will be more useful.
This Tip is not for Scalping Traders and also not for 5m or 15m time frame charts..! If your professional you can go ahead.

I think also so that too much time to sit on chart is not good enough, for the best analysis of the chart I think 2-3h can be enough but not the whole hours together, just a part of it part, always read the chart before entering the trade and start a position, it may help you to make big loss.

I have a small scene with you, but I think for your trading wideness you have to analysis the chart as long as, for the trades are telling you how long you have the analysis or stand for the chart, in overall take at least 15 minute concentration to the chart before going to the final trade.
I was in a graph or chart about one hour per day only after analyzing the new price for carrying out entry-TF I had a great view into the minor is engaged in the same direction or not
very good opinion of friends here,
I think if we start with a high consistency in trading plus hours of flying we were certainly all very easy bro
before discussing the other, how long a day looking at the chart?

the first few months when i learn technical, i spent about 4-6 hours a day in front of the chart. even so, the result doesn't worth it. recently, i didn't take more than an hour to see the chart. just analyse, set the pending order, close it. done. that way i get more profit. how could? i think that only just a matter of point of view :)

when u are risking low and confident about the trade then siting behind the computer more than 8 hours not needed..we are fully attacked by our emotion that's why we don't want to miss any moment of movement .but this is worthless if someone know the perfect timing of some session coz major movements are happen in that time

therefore, I would like to hear advice from the master of all for beginners like me, how long should we take time to trade?
I sit down to chart long hours in order to try to learn the behavior of price in some currency, but I know that this is very stressful for me and I try to minimize it so as not to tire

i think i have a bad habit. i like to sit in front of chart more than 8 hours daily. I guess it's because i dedicated my time to this job.
To make my life a bit balance, i get up and do some exercise before back to my sit again and stare the chart looking for opportunity to enter the market at the best position or best exit position.

I am a part time trader. No fixed time limit for my trading. It depends on the time that I get on the day.Generally I spend four hours in front of chart per working day. But,the time is not fixed. It fluctuated time to time.
I am a house working person and I have this habit of doing the trading and the home works in parallel. There I may say that I am always in front of the screen and I am not infront of the screen at any time.

I think you need not to stay for long time in front of chart. When you see that market is not much volatile you can far away from chart opening or closing your trade as per analysis of 4 hours or more. When you see market has much volatility then should follow the chart and keep trading for profit from fluctuation of market.

yes, you are correct. you can always keep an eye chart when the market is volatile. such as Euro and us. sessions. at the session, prices tend to move volatile, so you can take advantage in a short time.

That depends ... I have also spend all my waking hours before my charts ... and I have also taken the leave once after I have called it a day. There is a time when you need to spend the most time in the market and then there also comes a time when you need a break. After much hassle of going through analyzing and all that ... a trader might need some space for his mind and decision making ability. Sometimes even a trade won't let you go anywhere ... though there is very little that one can do once a trade has been lodged yet it is difficult for a trader to be indifferent.

While in the beginning it's conjointly slightly troublesome to recognize the charts as there are graphs and illustration however afterwards it becomes easier to review them. I recommend someone should have a glance at these charts and perceive the essential pattern instead of session for hours and learning it utterly.

I think brother Malik is right, sitting and watching the charts for hour after hour is surely boring and along it is unhealthy. We should find out and learn more about the right time & right moments to make our time worthy of watching the charts could help us to do the Forex Trading much more effective and positive in our life.
We don't have to stay long in front of the chart since since there is a service that provides price alert text message (SMS) to our cell phone. We can set up our price levels and get on with our life. We will be informed instantly by a text message on our mobile phone when our price levels get hit.

On average, human ability to focus on something continuously run only about 6 to 8 hours. You can stare at your chart that long but then you have to make sure to rest your eyes and mind, preparing them for the next day trading. Otherwise your trades will only get worse and worse.

Mostly traders spend 7 to 8 hrs in front of the trading chart. Trading is very interesting business once you join it you wish to sit all the time in front of the chart.
That's pretty long time to have in front of the terminal although, I think you are with a big trading capital here since you have monitored the market for a several hours and definitely into a long trade. Although, it is also depends if we can just check the market within few minutes or the whole day for our strategy used. So for scalpers it will just minutes.

150 pips in a week is a decent amount of target and if any trader manages to do so on regular basis then I think he is doing a good job. Also a trader need not look at the charts for long time as he needs to perform his trades based on his analysis and study .
yes,you are right. We have other works and duties to do other than forex.
if we waste 6-8hrs in charts we will become mentally stressed.
yes,i feel 1h is more than enough.sitting infront of computer and staring at chart all the day is not good both physically and mentally.
we need to do more activities and spend time in every other works.
no scalpers should spend more time,as they have their trades open for seconds and they make profit only when computer is on.
and long term trading people can spend 15-30min and after that they can open trade, close system and go away.
5-6 is like really a big thing.I feel that such a long analyses is not necessary.because when we think too much and analyse then we might do even the right thing in wrong sense. So i feel that analyses of 1hr is enough and not more than that.
you mean you analyse chart on saturday and sunday? well i guess that is a good idea for people who do long term trading and are busy during weekdays.so they can analyse fully in weekend and open trade in weekdays and get profit.
unlike the beginner who wants to always see the chart continuously, and I am talked a novice trader, they want to always doing transaction at any time so they glared at the monitor all day
you are very right, not fully all sessions provide many profit, adjust the character and style of each trader because I believe the character of every trader definitely different
and I think I prefer the london session because this session provides many advantages
there is no limit to learning, but if I may give advice, trading was effectively the appropriate with your trading style, find strategy that suits with you, test strategies at each session and felt where session the strategy is going well
you may be trading on the london session because this session the market has a big movement, so that beginners can learn a lot in this session.

you just take your time to trade only a minute then you set targets pips and collect the money well for compounding ... really amazing, I got a lot of knowledge from you friends, because so far I have not been able to be consistent with the time
are you could be like that, you are trading with a set TP and SL then you left and just see the results .., it's like gambling friends, which will be hit SL or TP? hahaha you really kidding with your post
many traders who spend much time to learn at the computer to analyze, but it really simple once you take the decision by saying you do not need time for the front of the computer
and even long term trader not every day opens chart, because traders has do long term analyze more than a day and they are swingers trader

How long you in front of the chart?
For starters there is still much puzzled to determine a suitable system with him. So there are still many traders who are in front of the chart more than 8 hours a day. trading is very tiring.
therefore, I would like to hear advice from the master of all for beginners like me, how long should we take time to trade?
I am a student and my part time trader I probably spent more time learning about forex than trade, I spent much time in front of the chart about 4 hours. I do not need to sit at a computer all day

i think stay in front of the chart about 1 until two hours is enough, dont be too long in front of the chart, because it can make you get stress and that is not good way to doing analysis. you should manage your time also, you need a socialization not only in front of your computer.

on the morning time i take some data .. like opening price of today.,. and high, low, close price of previous day. then i use to calculte .the pivot points. now i am find the differnce between opening price with pivot points. so if ithe lowes differnce is on pp.. level.. then that day i will be trade. but the lowest level is on s1,s2 or r1,r2 leverl then its means market is going to reversal or going to flat.. so i m not trade on lthat day. i am wait for the first condition.

I similar to trade at this time not up to 6 hour in a very operating day. I believe it's sensible time in use at this time for trade. However if anyone will trade additional hour than that may and for him I expect therefore concerning longer however i believe six hour is nice time for trade in Forex advertise. I dont grasp what the other one have confidence.
Right i also like to do like you .Basically for scalper trader should watch screen for long time as they have to close order quickly .I basically trade with daily time frame so i have enough time to get out of screen.

how long i stay in front of the chart? well, i spend a lot of time in front of computer but i don't just watch the chart because the computer that i use to work on is connected to the internet.
i only watch the chart when i get the signal from my trading strategy. in this way, i use my trading time effectively and don't need to watch the chart all day long.
Right this also happens to me and i also in university and when i put stop loss in order i see on returning that my order has reached stoploss due to high impact news and they come back to profits level this heart me a lot that i have already putted profitable trade.
Basically sitting at front of chart depend upon time frame we choose and like daily chart we can make analysis on basis of day time frame and it give strong signal to buy or sell .
Sitting ow watching same thing continuous can damage you eye so we should must reduce timing for forex but most of us do not bother it as forex is money making machine.

It is astute to consistently analysis the archive and not sit in foreground of it and absorb a continued time allegory it appropriate afore trading which can aswell absence appropriate access levels. So one should accomplish decisions and that is alone accessible if you consistently analysis the charts.

Most of the times i am in front of the chart for the 4-5 hours if my position is in loss as i am get panic due to the negative side of the position. It is always better to place a stop loss to every order so that we will not get in panic at any time.

Actually that depends but if I was to chose I would stay at least 12 hours in the market ... but there are certain problems that hinder me from doing that. Now to the core of your question : all you can do is before you hit the New Order button and after that there is little that is in your power that you can or try to do ... so analyze first and be prepared prior to going into the trading phase. Once your trade is logged on ... market could take hours reaching a certain point ... sometimes that certain point might not be farther enough yet it could take all the time in the world. You might feel dejected and deceived but stick with your trading plan. Forex trading is all about nerves testing and the more you can stand the test of your nerves the sturdier you get in trading. Good Luck.

On average, human ability to focus on something continuously run only about 6 to 8 hours. You can stare at your chart that long but then you have to make sure to rest your eyes and mind, preparing them for the next day trading. Otherwise your trades will only get worse and worse.
but the conditions about staring on a computer and working long hours on your pc are not recommended, you have to work as hard as posible. but with very minimal hours.

i keep sitting in front of the chart as long as i am not cleared and not sure about the type of market whether bearish or bullish and final decision about my trading style is not finalized, till that i keep sitting
it is not necessary to stay for a long in front of chart. its also boring. i am a part time trader. i follow the daily candle stick pattern and then open a trade with small lot for a long time. i also do scalping at night when volatility is less and bollingar bands remain parallel. thus way i get good profit and it also save my time.

I stay in front of the chart for six hours in a day. I analyze chart, find the support and resistance in time frame D1, H4, H1 before entering the market. after analyzing the chart I can make a decision.
ya by just spending time in front of the chart will not be helpful. you must also do the correct analysis and you should be able to identify the true trend. this factors will help you to earn the profit in forex

In my early time of trading forex I spend a lot of time daily, but now I also spend a good amount of time. My daily spending time in forex is from 2 hour to 6 hour just to know about the market situation and I just make pending order according to my trading plan.

In a trend market trading is easier than volatile market because market is just following into one direction. When situations like this comes, sitting in front of monitor for 8 hours is worthless. It shouldn't take more than half an hour to realize the actual market condition but taking more than that mentions that trading odds aren't going into traders favor.

Following chart and deciding to trade in trend direction has additional benefits, as even chart is broken due to long term trend we still can expect to make profits sooner or later.
Its not such specific timing to be in front of your chart . When i am learning some new strategy , never check the time , just go on learning.
Many time when i trade for high volume , i can resist my self from checking out chart again and again.
For newbie , if seriously wanna learn then spend atleast 2-3 hours in initial days in front of chart.

Reading charts and magazines is important . It makes you update .And who think once they learn about forex is enough for them fail in this field . one should know news updates regularly.
As charts are concerned they give you better understanding of previous and current trend of the market . You can plan your next trade according to it or predict . Duration of chart timing is your own will .What suits you 1 min, 15 min or any other chart.
If you want success it take time and experience . people who think have profit in little time not exist in the marke

yes I agree with you,
we can not experience stress every day,
moreover you decide to leave positions open over the weekend..
It is very dangerous for your body.
I agree with you
it is better to close the position even though it has a floating minus
rather than making us nervous and stressed, unless we have prepared for that stop losses
and I think 3 or 4 hours it was the appropriate time
and too long in front of the monitor is also not good for health
