The answer really depends on your trading style but a basic rule of thumb is the smaller the better. The smaller your lot siz A good size for a beginner I think it is better to use a mini lot.

To decided which lots size is better start it with the smallest first and see what happen, and then add it slowly while you how that lots size give affect yo your margin and equity, more lots mean it will reduce your margin and equity, if your free margin minus then it means you cannot open any more order. So let your free margin always positive because when the forex movement goes the opposite your open order you can start to make new opposite order, it will save your margin before it will go more far away.

Many Brokers have included the Mini-Size Lots in their Trading Terminals so that our investment controls less Forex money and the benefit is that there is less probability that we will lose our investments too rapidly. Ofcourse i agree with u ,by trading with small volume currency we have less chances of loss n profit too
for bigeners ,they should always take small risks n trade in mini size.
