I think the reason why a stop loss is a subject taught in every credible Forex trading course is because it is the only tool we have to control risk. It is our only weapon that controls how much money we are willing to lose. It is there to protect our investment so that we do not have to keep checking the same chart over and over again. Once it is placed, leave the stop loss where it is even if the price starts moving towards it

although in real, i dont use stop loss, but i think it is necessary since trades we do have high risk till loss all money or capital.

no bussiness in this world that doesnt have risk, you have to know that forex is a bussiness
you have to think that loss is a part of profit, you can manage your loss
just dont greed and always make yourself discipline

yap brother i have been trading more than 4.5 years and i seldom use it, i prefer to use hedging system or trailing stop loss it self .

The poster can not determine serious traders as such because of stop loss issue. He may be sincerely mistaken. Everyone has their own trading system and we have many successful traders who dont trade with stop loss. They are doing very well because they have a good idea of the market behavior and they know that making losses is part of trading. S o they dont worry as long as they have gains that are say 7 out of 10. They are fine. I personally also dont trade with stoploss. Trading with stop loss dosent make you a better trader or more serious trader than those who dont and it is not a guarantee that you would make consistent profits.

Stop loss is a tool to help your trades take a lighter loses every time the market goes against you in spike or big market movements. Stop loss is never forced upon you and it's optional. It's up to the trader to use it or not in his trading.
