well the sma is only important for determining the trend and after that is done you will have to know where and how to enter into trades at a mean value area because that too is very important as the market will have different positions from where you can enter into the trade with a very tight stop and then you will need to make your take profits to a higher place.

yup, I've heard about this 200 Simple MA, and I checked the history and it would be useful if used as a barrier, and if combine with other indicators it would be more useful, but I prefer to use 200 Bollinger Bands, because the midle of BB is equal to 200 Simple MA, so here I got two additional lines the upper and lower BB.

ME too I actually have seen allot of execs use the two hundred sma to work out the trend ( close to term trend ) of a currency or stock . its important and closely watched as a result of its terribly or incorporates a terribly Brobdingnagian impact on the currency . essentially its were bull and bear fight is won !.......
