Hi guys,
I want to know if you use MA as means of predicting a trend turn? For example I use 2 exponential MA curves, one on a period of 12 (short moving average) and another on 26 (long moving average). So basically whenever the short moving average curve crosses the long moving average one, I know the trend is likely to change. This has worked good for me for the last 2 weeks on short period graphs (5 and 15min). But the problem is once the cross happens the price is allready high, so the profits are not so big (10-30 pips max).

Am I doing something wrong? Is anybody else using this and what are your thoughts on it?

Moving average is a trend indicator which shows the movements or pace of the market. It is believed to be a calculated strength of the market over a period of time. In my experience with it, at every point where it points in the same direction with another indicator, then it is a strong price action

I see that is one of the moving averages as an indicator is very simple and easy to use. if you want to learn more, you can learned by it by adding the existing levels. function as pergerkans as a boundaries or to find out the price trend directions !

When we use MA for trading forex, we have to combine with some other indicators such as MACD or Stochatics, and they are just use for scalping method. You are not doing some thing wrong, just because sometimes, these indicators gives wrong signals. That's why we have to set stop loss when trading.
