I think gold has a decent spread wide. because the movement is very volatile. to reach 100 points, only takes a few seconds. because the movement of gold, can reach thousands of points a day.

yes the big spread of the gold is due to its demand.but gold trading requires more capital.and i heard that trading in gold is not safe like trading the currency pair...i don't know whether it is true or not

for faster movement of gold and the price range is very wide. you can find that the movement of gold in a day up to 1000 pips. and it is unlikely to be achieved by any currency pair.
