Definitely we should monitor our open positions to avoid the chances of possible losses. We don't know the future and we never wanna loose in forex. That's why we need to have our eyes on the market chart. and if you have sure with position which you take. I think you needn't see again. more than anything else if you have attached TP and of SL. but if you do not too sure with choice which you specify. clear this you have to pay attention and observe. if happened loss hence can anticipate and loss do not too much.

in general we don't have watch our position because we already set the stop lose and the take profit;but in some cases it is better to accept small profit or small lose and close the trade without reaching the stop lose or the take one;so watching the trade can be profitable

Most times when i place a trade, i don't watch my open position, this is because , i work and don't have time to be in the chart always, and second it is not really good as emotions might make you close a good position simply because the market is not going in your direction

There are some traders who go on fore about 5-10 years with single trade too. And there are some who stick with the trade just for few minutes settling for 3-5 pips. I think no need to monitor our trader for all the time because if we use the Stop Loss and Take profit then we must not need to monitor all the time . Yes we can monitor for our mental satisfaction.
A trader must have to analyse the technical and fundamental analysis. And also have to calculate the money management before placing an order.
