I agree with you in the moving average as a very useful and reliable simple indicator, but for the momentum rooted indicators, I think can be replaced by several others oscillation indicators such as MACD, Stochastic Oscillator, and or Commodity Channel Index. Since mostly these indicators has the same nature.

Both are very important in my point of view.and It gives strong signals with momentum indicators. I use moving average with stochastic and MACD.

I think the most important trading tool that newbies really lack is the use of trailing stop loss. Many don't even know how to set and use trailing stop. It is a nice tool to be used when you are on a trend and unaware about its reversal.

Well, the MA indicator on its own, though powerful, but not enough to give you a valid entry signal most of the time. If your trading system is based on MA alone without any other indicator to give your confirmation, then you will most likely enter bad trades most of the time.
