how much success have you got in short term and scalping. I am not too sure if you still be trading after a year or after few months so are you good enough to survive for longer with scalping. this is the question but in long term yes you can survive for many years. as in my 4 years or so I have not much margin calls. so i have survived because of long term trading.

agree with you, i am now a scalper and sometimes i trade full time all days but sometimes i just take several hours...but important to note, we do not push trade too hard..

it depends from person to person those who are into full tym buisness will do long term and those who do other jobs will do short term ....so profits wil vary from person to person ie traders.....and it will depends on you impliment your strategy with it

one night stands are better than marriage, i use 15 min or 1 hour chart, get in and out of the trades real fast between 5 to 30 minutes i am out of the trade, then plan a new one, keeping a daily chart is missing a lot of action and entering into high risk trades on daily charts, coz a trend change is known on 15 min chart first.

i'am also prefer short term trading, but is intraday trading, usually i also trading with scalping if i have more time to see the chart.
