short term traders have been shown as scalpers as a result of simple fact they leave their positions to produce a terribly short time mostly in minutes andf they will target few pips. they will use shorter time frames an example would be m1 to firmly m15 however longterm traders wouled like to firmly leave their postions ranging for days, weeks and even months and that they target giant pips. they will utilize longer timeframes an example would be h4 to firmly m1 charts.

the style of the trading greatly depends upon the equity we have and if we have less equity(<5000$) then its better to go for the short term trading but if we have a bigger account then we can go for the bigger swings and the swing trading is an easy and tension free long term trading method.i am a small equity trader so i try to do the day trading or short term trading.

10-15pips movement we will see among few second.. if your sl can be 10 pips its which means your trading is shut with in few minuts... during this condition you've got a lot of likelihood and time for open new orders..

Both is a really good depending upon the experience level of thats trader. In long term trading strategy, there is calculated risk so chances of earning profits are more. In Shortterm trading system is done at a high volume most of the times so chances of loss are more. But for experienced forex traders, both of these types can be helpful as they can analyze the situation properly.
