How many pips do you think is safe for SL ?

I usually put SL few pips below the support line in case of a long position and few pips above the resistance line in case of a short position so that if the support or resistance is broken in that case my selected SL may keep my account safe.

yes, what i meant above is my SL for daily trading, but for scalping i will certainly put it tighter than that, and i use a minimum of 1:1 risk to reward ratio, i never set lower than that cause it will easily blow your account

well every one can set his on SL. every trader can not be the same and just set how much can you afford to lose. or just according to your plan what suits you best. Answer of this question you have to find out yourself. well I can even keep position open even 1000 pips down so every one can have different method and plan

yeah, scalper ussualy do not use stop loss in their trading. all posisition they closed manually. that is so far i know.

scalping me trading bahut hi small pip difference ke liye kari jati hai isliye isme sl aur tp ki shyd zarurt na padti ho kyunki with in 2-3 mins me deal close kar dete hai traders

i think SL is a way to minimize u r loss.
market is unmeasurable so SL is the way by which we can minimize our loss and save from high loss.

for SL should be related with size of lots, how much money if SL has touched?

if you use SL 50, then how much you use Lot size ?
in my opinion use SL should be 5% risking our funds, This will be safer

but if I was playing a medium-term, sometimes using stop loss to 50 pips ...

i am scalper too , i set my SL just 10 pips and take profit is 5 pips. the comparison is 1 : 2 ( TP : SL)
small range but scalper have many Transactions in one time.

I normally target 20 pips so i keep an sl of 20 pips, so it is either a gain of 20 pips or a loss of 20 pips never more, if it hits my sl then the trade was not good and i need to work on the entry, if i collect 20 pips then the trade was good and i feel happy about it, i never hunt for more, i feel whatever i get is profit in bank

stop losses should be based on the type of trade one does. if you are a scalper, then your horizon is very short. it is better to assess the general movement of the pair and the loss should never exceed a certain percentage of the margin employed.

I am agree with you because most of the time my terget also 50 pips and about your opinion of SL its really urgent each of our trade i think. because without sl i think we are taking very big risk when there are very much movement of market sometime.

According to my knowledge it should be greater than TP pips, But most of times i don't use Stop loss if we are trading with H1 then its better to have STop loss around 50 pips for H4 we should increase it.
