Ubud Town on Bali, Indonesia
The town of Ubud, in the uplands of Bali, Indonesia, is known as a center for traditional crafts and dance. The surrounding Ubud District’s rainforest and terraced rice paddies, dotted with Hindu temples and shrines, are among Bali’s most famous landscapes. Ancient holy sites include the intricately carved Goa Gajah (“Elephant Cave”) and Gunung Kawi, with its rock-cut shrines.
Ubud is known for being the cultural capital of Bali and it still has the highest concentration of art galleries on the island. The museum was the brainchild of Rudolf Bonnet, Walter Spies, and local artist Cokorda Gede Agung Sukawati who was a prince and a member of the Royal Family of Ubud.
Bali is safe to travel alone, even as a female traveller. It's very common for travellers to make their way around the island solo. Take care of your safety as you would in Australia and exercise a degree a caution when it comes to your personal safety.
A vacation to Ubud for one week usually costs around Rp2,812,050 for one person. So, a trip to Ubud for two people costs around Rp5,624,100 for one week. Two people traveling together for one month in Ubud can often have a lower daily budget per person than one person traveling alone for one week.
