Villarreal is increasingly serious about facing the new season after the La Liga club is reportedly getting closer to bringing in experienced Roma defender from Argentina, Federico Fazio. The movement of La Liga club Villarreal in the transfer market this summer did look quite swift by bringing in several important players.
After confirming the figure of Unai Emery as their new coach for next season, the team nicknamed The Yellow Submarine has also brought names such as Dani Parejo, Francis Coquelin and also Takefusa Kubo. However, they do not appear to be stopping there yet as the latest news from Corriere della Sera reveals that the La Liga team will soon sign Roma defender Federico Fazio. The 33-year-old still has a contract until 2021, but is likely to be released by the Serie A club because he is not part of their coach, Paulo Fonseca's plans. Fazio himself rarely had the opportunity to play with Roma last season, and his future seems like he is no longer in the team from the capital.
For this reason, the move from the former Tottenham Hotspur defender is indeed not a surprise, although not many also suspect Villarreal will be the next port for him.
