I think without money there is no difference between demo trading and real trading. in trading demos we use virtual money on the other hand we use real money. the tarde demo is only used for training on the other hand real trading is used to earn money. yes it is a very good step in the learning process. because the demo account however will introduce us to the forex trading conditions. because that is the market we face when the demo account is the same as the market we will face in a real account. so when we can do it well on a demo trading account, I am sure we will not experience difficulties when trading on a real account.

i think the main reason is much explained in some of the above posts . it's the emotions and other felling coming on real account than trading on demo .
when i was a beginner in forex everybody suggested me to do demo trade for even up to 5 months or so . but it was too long for me. but nowadays it's said that rather than studying on a demo account use a cent account and invest a little money , and learn from it . they says that it helps to practice our emotions and feelings also with the learning process . so i have been recommending every one to do this
