Overall consumer prices increased 1.8 percent in the 12 months ended in June, more than projected and after a 1.4 percent year-over-year gain the prior month.
The core CPI rose 1.6 percent from June 2012, in line with projections and following a 1.7 percent advance in the prior 12 month period.
Energy costs increased 3.4 percent from a month earlier. Gasoline prices jumped 6.3 percent, the most since February.
Food costs rose 0.2 percent, reflecting higher prices for cereals and meats.
Today�s report showed automobile prices increased 0.3 percent.
Hourly earnings adjusted for inflation were unchanged in June from a month earlier, after a 0.1 percent decrease the prior month. They were up 0.4 percent over the past 12 months.

Gold on the hourly chart has formed a clear converging triangle, this figure is bullish in nature, so in the first place (to buy) I'll be waiting for a breakthrough upper boundary of the triangle (the resistance in 1294) for the continuation of the main trend, this breakthrough will open in 1320 and 1340.

now after trying to test the resistance area, from H1 chart we can see the candlestick bar getting more tiny. this can be a sign that the resistance area can't be break for this test today and it should be fall back to downside after a few moment.

the price is moving above the pivot point at 1284.19 level. the price is moving up side with making some doji pattern and giving us long signal. the price will try to move at the resistance at 1295.00 we can hold our long trade with the stop loss at 1270.00

Gold price is now up trend. The price already breakout daily pivot point (1284.29). I think the price may touch daily resistance 1 level (1294.70).

Resistance & Supports are in a tight range.
In a current view, $1277 & $1272 are supports
And $1288 & $1294 are resistance.

Gold swung between gains and losses Today, as investors looked past weaker-than-expected retail sales data to Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke�s congressional testimony later this week for more clarity on the central bank`s stimulus-easing plans.

Recent signs the Fed�s will maintain monetary stimulus contributed to the biggest weekly advance for precious metals since 2011 as weaker-than-expected U.S. retail sales raised the prospect that the US recovery may be stalling.

U.S. retail sales rose less than expected at a seasonally adjusted figure of 0.4 percent in June, slowing from a 0.5% increase in May and well short of market calls for a 0.8% increase, according to data released Monday.

Separately, the Empire State manufacturing survey for July rose for the second month, posting a reading of 9.5 from 7.8 last month.

The numbers sent gold prices rising by fueling sentiments that if the U.S. economic recovery kept proving less robust, the fed�s may take longer to throttle back it quantitative easing program
