Gold prices tumbled early US session, with spot gold sinking to $1,323.79 a troy ounce, a fresh August low, as investors rushed to take some profits out from its recent recovery ahead of FED's Yellen speech in Jackson Hole. Despite FED officers have been sending mixed signals over the timing of an upcoming rate hike, mounting speculation that the Central Bank can act before the year end, has prevented the commodity from rallying further. The decline may be overextended in thin summer trading, but the fact is that spot plummeted, and seems poised to extend its decline, as in the daily chart, the price accelerate its decline after breaking below a major Fibonacci support, the 23.6% retracement of its latest bullish run, while the RSI indicator heads sharply lower around 41. In the 4 hours chart, technical indicators are entering oversold territory while the 20 SMA heads sharply lower below the 100 and 200 SMAs, all of which supports a continued decline towards 1,310.80 July's monthly low.
