(Kitco News) - Gold prices could continue to face pressure in the near term as some investors still need to raise cash, but then a favorable fundamental backdrop should underpin the precious metal, said Credit Suisse Wednesday.

Gold has declined lately despite a favorable fundamental backdrop for the metal, such as looser monetary policy, lower bond yields and volatility in stocks, Credit Suisse said. The pullback in prices was due to liquidity needs of investors needing cash as so-called risk assets tumbled, analysts said.

“We expect near-term gold prices to remain under pressure for this reason, before rebounding on fundamentals,” Credit Suisse said. “Recall that a similar dynamic occurred at the beginning of the 2008 financial crisis when gold fell ~25% before rebounding sharply and reflecting the loose monetary policy.”

Pivot point, Resistance level and support level is most important to understand before trading. Resistance Level shows markit is going up so buy is best for traders and Support Level shows market is going down so it is best for sell trading.
The support and resistance level educate us for markit trading up or down so we can trade sell or buy and get huge benefit in trading.

NZD/USD rises to 0.6070, up 0.40%, following the high of 0.6096 as the New Zealand government announced details of its stimulus during the Asian session on Tuesday. The government allocated nearly 4.0% of the GDP to counter the negative implications of the coronavirus (COVID-19) after the RBNZ’s rate cut the previous day.

In addition to offering the details of the plan, New Zealand’s Finance Minister also cites fears of a recession, job losses and an increase in debts.

Even so, the market’s risk-tone remains on the recovery mode as the US 10-year treasury yields remain on the front foot around 0.785% while S&P 500 Futures register close to 4.0% gains after declining heavily on Monday.

Earlier during the day, New Zealand Westpac Consumer Survey data for the first quarter (Q1) came in below 109.9 to 104.20. Further, it should also be noted that the RBNZ surprised global markets with a 0.75% rate cut the previous day.

Looking forward, the US Retail Sales for November and the virus updates will be the key to forecast near-term market direction.

Technical Analysis
Any update beyond October 2019 low near 0.6200 is less likely to lure the buyers. On the contrary, sellers can take entry if the prices slip below 0.6000 mark.

NZD/USD price has broken the resistance level now and I think we should wait for it to retest the 0.9970 support level and after the confirmation we should go long on this pair now.
There is very strong possibility that will continue to rise after the retesting of the support level so we should be ready for the long positions but if the prices breaks below this support again then we should be bearish on this pair...........
