Upbeat risk tone lends support to the AUD bulls.
AUD/USD is making a comeback above the midpoint of the 0.63 handle in Europe, having tripped to near the 0.6320 region after the US dollar attempted a bounce across the board.
Over the last hour, the greenback recovered most losses vs. its main competitors, with the US dollar index now trading modestly flat just shy of the 100 mark.
The spot also saw some fresh selling, as both oil and gold prices dropped amid firmer risk tones. The market sentiment improved on hopes of a coronavirus cure after Gilead’s clinical tests of the Remdisivir drug showed promising results in treating the infection.

The world's second-largest economy's growth rate declined by 6.8% year-on-year in the first three months of 2020 versus expectations for a 6.5% contraction, having expanded by 6% in the fourth quarter of 2019. The quarter-on-quarter growth rate came in at -9.8% versus expectations for -9.9%

AUD/USD retreats sharply from 61.8% Fibo. and dropped to near one-week lows.
Bears might now be eyeing a move towards the 0.6215 resistance turned support.
The AUD/USD pair stalled its recent strong positive momentum to five-week tops and witnessed a dramatic turnaround from 61.8% Fibonacci level of the 0.7044-0.5509 plunge.
The steep intraday slide of over 150 pips dragged the pair to near one-week lows, with bulls now looking to extend the downfall further below the 0.6300 round-figure mark and 50% Fibo.
