Here's how I see USDCAD this week, from a technical perspective of a swing trader.
On the daily time frame, price action is consolidating along an ascending channel (magenta) and is presently located near the channel support and a confluence of the horizontal support around the 1.33260 area. If there is a northward turnaround in that area this week, we may see bulls target the channel resistance or the horizontal resistance around 1.37500. Alternatively, a southward continuation is likely to result from the breakdown of the channel support, and may target the horizontal support around 1.31550.

This is fantastic ... positive US employment #'s didn't do anything. Oil recovering, us economy is a house of cards that's falling apart, Trump effect not fully felt yet. Next target 1.3335, hopefully before BOC. Post BOC, who knows?!

Nice movement today. USD on thin ice right now. Potential for disappointing NFP followed by 10:15 Powell speech, rate cuts in 2019 etc ... could fall into the 1.33's tomorrow. Next week BOC is a whole other story ... I really think we can drop under 1.30 Q1

If the support at 1.3380 on daily chart will be broken, than a new range is open till 1.28 area.

Trading is always tentative. None of my buy limits were filled, but I don't think I missed the train. We are still hanging out at important levels, it'll likely take the news this week to make or break the trade. I am looking at the 1.3125ish level. The whole point is to work to find the longer term entry zones. I would avoid being long at this time unless you're scaling in.
