USD showed growth against JPY on Thursday, offsetting the decline at the beginning of the week.
As there is a lack of key economic releases, the movement of the yen is speculative. Takako Masai, a member of the board of the Bank of Japan, who spoke on Thursday before the leaders of Japanese business, said nothing significant for the market. The official noted that it takes time to achieve a stable inflation rate of 2.0%, and the regulator can keep the mild monetary policy for a long time.
On Friday, investors are focused on May Overall Household Spending release in Japan. The value is expected to decrease by 1.5%, which can affect JPY negatively. Also investors will focus on June's data on the US labor market, which may help understand approximate timeframe of monetary policy tightening.
Support and resistance
