I think that you should learn the technical analysis because it is very strong and it gives you a good results and don't waste your time with the strategies which contains a lot of indicators because it's not useful at all and it just follow the price and it doesn't predict the next movements.

I think a month is enough to evaluate the performance of a strategy time. If after that period the trader did not obtain good results, the trader must modify the parameters till find a system that works in the long run. the trader must identify what are the causes of failure and modify those aspects.
