Well as longer times frames have less fakeouts, trends generally survive long enough to be caught by most of the trading strategies. Below is my take (but requires lots of patience with average gains). One of my friend who used it had 70-80% profitable trades. Inherent rules are-

Stop loss- 100 Pips
2% risk apetite, meaning .02 lot size for a 1k account.

Indicators used- ATR (Average True Range)
200 SMA
Barry's Support and Resistance (easily available on internet)

If the price is above 200 SMA and ATR (Blue) with no clear resistance within 50 pips- Buy
If the price is below 200 SMA and ATR (Red) with no clear Support within 50 pips- Sell

You can use a 30-50 pip trailing stop and let the position run till it closes down or can settle for 1:1 (i.e. 100 pips profit)

Disadvantage of this strategy would be lesser trades, but you only need to monitor the set up every 4 hrs (once your broker forms new candles).

Average 20-30% return can be easily managed by this startegy trading major pairs. You can use minor and crosses also.

For longterm trade Select the time frame to 1 weak or 4 weak or 1 month as you want and open trade with low rate and then w8 for long term but make shore you have enough equity to trade
