Arsene Wenger is the most successful manager in Arsenal's history. However, the French manager left the Emirates Stadium in 2018. In his 22 years as manager of The Gunners, Arsene Wenger has presented 17 championship trophies. The French manager started managing Arsenal on October 1, 1996, after being recruited from a Japanese club, Nagoya Grampus Eight. At his first press conference session, Wenger admitted to receiving an offer from the Gunners because he was impressed with English football.

"The main reason for coming is that I love English football, the roots of the game are here. I like the passion that is in the game and at Arsenal I like the spirit of the club and its potential," Wenger explained at the time.

Coming from an Asian club, Wenger's capacity as a reliable manager is in doubt. In fact, a number of Arsenal players, supporters and the media in the City of London were confused by the club management's decision to appoint Arsene Wenger as manager. Wenger's first season with Arsenal did not go smoothly. He only brought the Gunners to finish third in the Premier League final standings, ran aground in the fourth round of the FA Cup and the Premier League Cup, and stopped in the first round of the 1996-1997 UEFA Cup season.

However, slowly but surely Arsene Wenger had a positive impact on Arsenal's performance. Getting power from club management regarding training sessions, transfers, and player contracts, Wenger managed to present two titles for Arsenal in the 1997-1998 season.

The two titles are the Premier League and FA Cup. In addition, he also led the Bullet Warehouse team to win the Community Shield 1998.
Arsene Wenger managed to bring Arsenal to win various titles. The majority of the titles that Wenger is able to present to the Gunners are at the domestic level. Arsene Wenger is the most successful manager in this event. The 68-year-old man has helped Arsenal win seven FA Cup titles.

He won his first FA Cup title in the 1997-1998 season. Then two seasons in a row, namely in 2001-2002 and 2002-2003, the Gunners again won the title of the oldest soccer tournament in England. Completing the FA Cup title, Arsenal won the title again in the 2004-2005, 2013-2014, 2014-2015 and 2016-2017 seasons. Wenger's last title in the FA Cup was after silencing Chelsea. In a match that took place at Wembley Stadium, 27 May 2017, Arsenal won 2-1 over the Blues.

Before Arsenal made an official offer, Manchester United first tried to buy William Saliba from St Etienne. The Red Devils made contact with the club in January 2019. At that time, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was just appointed as United's new manager. The man from Norway realized that United needed a new center-back. Solskjaer then glanced at the name William Saliba.

However, quoted from the Telegraph, William Saliba refused an offer to move to United. The 19-year-old player admits that he wants to 'focus' on his career with St Etienne in the 2018/2019 season. However, the real reason William Saliba refused United was Arsenal. From the start he knew that Arsenal were monitoring him and waiting for that opportunity to come. William Saliba is a huge Arsenal fan since childhood. Arsenal officially bought William Saliba in July 2019 for £ 27 million. The Gunners then let him continue playing at St Etienne in order to get enough playing minutes. Arsenal's right decision.
Now, William Saliba is included in Mikel Arteta's long-term plans at Arsenal. He is prepared to become a pillar in the back line with Gabriel Magalhaes and senior player David Luiz in the 2020/2021 season.
Later, in order to maximize the potential of Saliba and Magalhaes, Arsenal are said to be ready to release other center-backs such as Rob Holding and Callum Chambers. That way, the two young players have the opportunity to play in the first team

Arsenal's triumph in English football was first started by coach Herbert Chapman who coached in the range of 1925-35 and succeeded in winning several English domestic competitions (FA Cup, Premier League title and Charity Shield) as well as dominating it and making Arsenal as the most dominant force in England at the time. In the 1940s-1960s, Arsenal could only add a little to its domestic title collection.

In the early 1970s, Arsenal succeeded Arsenal's best achievement in Europe the first time that occurred in the 1969-70 season, at the Fairs Cup (the predecessor of the UEFA Cup). Arsenal won for the first time and at the last time at the Fairs Cup (Fairs Cup replaced the UEFA Cup since the 1971-72 season) after defeating the club R.S.C. Anderlecht with a 4-3 aggregate (with a home and away system) At that time, the club was trained by Bertie Mee. Throughout the 1980s, Arsenal managed to add to Arsenal's collection with several domestic titles, namely the League Cup in 1987 and won the English League in 1989 through a dramatic match with the title competitor, Liverpool. However, Arsenal failed to collect titles from European competition, losing on penalties to Valencia 5-4 in the Cup Winners' Cup competition

Arsenal was founded in the Woolwich area, southeast of London in 1886 under the name Dial Square, then quickly changed its name to Royal Arsenal. In 1891 their name was changed to Woolwich Arsenal. In 1913, the club moved to the north, precisely in the Highbury area and built the Highbury Stadium, which became their new headquarters. When moving that location, their club's first name, namely Woolwich was removed so that only Arsenal's name was left. In addition, because the location of the Arsenal stadium is close to the headquarters of Tottenham Hotspur, it is no wonder that the Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur match is called "North London derby" and is one of the hottest derbies in London.
