Audi's answer to the Jaugar I Pace and Tesla Model X boasts up to 402bhp and a claimed range of 248 miles. As we revealed in our drive of a protype, the e-Tron is capable of 0-62 mph in under six seconds and will hit 124 mph. Audi also claims that up 30 per cent of the e-Tron’s total range is accounted for by energy recuperation. The driver can select the severity of this recuperation using the steering-wheel mounted paddles, and the system then recaptures kinetic energy to give extra range. The charging system is also particularly neat; with a 150kW charging port on offer, the e-Tron can recover 80 per cent of its charge in less than half an hour.
