i think demo account is the initial step for every trader and you can continue in the demo account to test your methods and strategies and then that strategy can be use in the real trading
may bhi kabhi kabhi aesa hi kerta hoon, khaas ker jab koi news market ko bohot volatile ker day to phir may demo per trade kerta hoon or ye check kerta hoon kay volatile market may trading kaisay ho sakti hay.
You should keep on demo trading until you successively start making consistent profits on demo account when ever you want. It means when your strategy starts giving you more than 75% winning trades then you should go on your real account.

If I say about my experience, than you will be surprised to that I started forex trading just two weeks.
this 2 weeks i spent on demo of forex.
it's not about time , it's about you learning and if you are ready with a good strategy and you can analyse good the news , all this you can do it in few days . the most important is dicipline when you trade in real .
I think 2 months on demo account is a suitable and ample time for a trader to spend as in this time he can practice his trading strategy , trading style and few indicators and achieve desired results before he can start to trade in real account
