A Review On Ajax Amsterdam
The club nicknamed De Godenzonen was founded by a group of people in the Dutch capital. Starting from a hobby, then the idea emerged to establish a football club which was eventually named Ajax Amsterdam.
The name Ajax is taken from the name of a hero in Greek mythology. He is the son of Telamon who is still the grandson of Zeus.
However, in the early days the team was founded, Ajax's figure was not yet emblazoned in the team's logo. From the 1900-1911 and 1911-1928 periods, Ajax still used the standard logo with a picture of a person kicking a ball.
In the initial logo, the person is seen still wearing a red uniform and black pants. At first, Ajax chose to use this color. It was only in 1911 that they changed it to a white, red block combination that has survived to this day.
This was inseparable from Ajax's promotion to the Dutch Premier League Main Division that year. Meanwhile, at the same time, the uniform with this color was used by a strong team in the Netherlands at that time, namely Sparta Rotterdam, which is the oldest team in the Netherlands.
Until now, the team which is officially named AFC Ajax (Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax) is arguably the most successful team in a country that is often referred to by the name Holland.
In total, currently Ajax has won 71 titles, including 33 Dutch League titles, 18 KNVB Cups and four UEFA Champions League titles.
