I think only you can decide when you are ready. I guarantee that you will not have spent long enough even when you think that you have. Some people spend a few weeks on demo and think they are ready. They are really in trouble when they start to trade.
I think there is no limit to trad in demo.I trad in real and also demo because It allows help me to discover the new Idea and I think every trader should trad 6 month in the demo then he can trad in real.
I love demo trading even when I am not completely a newbie. I have started live trading but I still get involved in trading with a demo account because it is fun and you can try a few silly stunts that you will not dare to attempt on a live account. Demo trading helps a lot to develop your trading skills as long as you do it well and with the right attitude.

I think we should use demo account for trading in this market if we use more demo account than we can learn more and we can get more experience in this market . In my opinion if you want to trade in real account than you should trade in demo for six month.

Everyone has a different point of view about this matter, some say 6 months, some say 2-3 months. I think there is no fix time for that. You should keep learning forex and using demo account unless you have become able to earn consistent profits in demo. When you do then you can join real account.
