I think this is a good decision for you to trade forex manually. Not only is learning good for your trading account, because most of the time trading with robots is risky, because trading currency pairs can show different attitudes in different market conditions according to economic news. and please first try it on a demo account then try it to a real account. I know the robot the first week will give you a big profit and then day after day your trade will show a loss to recover so you have to stop your robot for open trading and wait to restore your open trade.
I think the robot works in sidewave if the market moves within 10 to 20 pips then the robot works very well but then there are fundamentals that come, the robot cannot manage it and it depends on market conditions. Some time gives a profit and some time loses all the game. and i use forex robot to get profit but my personal robot or homemade ^^

I am new to Forex and I don't use robots because I believe in manual trading and I think the best is robots. but some people consider robots to function well as manual trading because they trade without emotion. According to some people, the robot functions. and I am somewhat the same as you although I believe in robots more than you might be because I am a programmer so I know the capabilities of robots. But I am the same as you in terms of not dare to put a robot to do our work. Actually I want to make some simple EAs that will help me as a waiter when I leave my chart but I don't want it to be a trader replacing me as a true trader.
