That depends on how you define "smartness". I never thought this way. Smartness has nothing to do with forex treading and moreover many expert traders (your so called smart people) often loose their trades. Its not a traders mentality. If u really want to stay with forex, u have to be smart enough to face ur losses. All the best my friend.

smartness is a factor of forex. a smart trader take the proper decision of trading. he can take a good risk and money management and make a proper invest. a smart trader control his emotion when he trade. it helps to make a good profit.
I will say that the smartness of a trader should be based on the fact that the trader has the best out of trading in the main tones, this is a good place if the trader knows what he is doing.

I think this whole world for only smart people without smartness we can not go ahead because there heavy competition between the people so we should smart for trading in this market also.
Smartness is not a requisite for making trades in the forex market, but you might need it when taking crucial decision. The right decision taken at the right time can prevent huge losses or can gain much more profit. So yes you should be smart though it is not required to open and close trades.
obviously we need to become smart ..this is the place for smart people ..those who know the way to make money they are mentally smart in my sense ..we should beocme more educated and more reliable for this market and being smart day by day
