Forex trading is a great fun. I want to have the trades for long term and want to capture the complete top to bottom the trend. Since I am trading mainly in the eur usd, I just missed the 450 pips fall.

i think its depends on trader mental satisfaction, his equity, market movement. i am a short term trader because of my low equity. short term trading is risky too but i can take profit/loss in a short time. long term invest is safe and profit is too good.
mere hisab se long term treding is best better than short term trading because long term helps us to do business for long and make good profit but some people are also expert in short term trading but it need very much experience.so i prefer long term trading:peace:

it depends on the trader ability. but long time trading is more profitable then short time trading. for long time trading you have a good capital and a good knowledge about trading. it makes a good profit from you. but for small capital short term trading is best.

i think is very good strategy and its very simple, because we are only make or take a few pips in a day. you should not greed when do scalping. because this is always done by trader.

Yes I also love to trade in gold but trading in gold for long term it is not better because if you manage your profit for short term then you can earn more other then long turn. Daily gold move minimum 30$ to 40$
Long term Forex trading is good for short term. but if you have good knowledge you can both short term and full term. without knowledge short term can be risky but in long term trade you can recover your loss by trading.

i was a short term trader but now i become a long term trader because in long term trading your profit always become larget if you have selected a right entry point because its always necessary.

As a new comer I am unable to answer your question but I think that if any trader wants to get a handy profit the trading must be full time and as newbie trading should be part time.
i prefer long term trading because it gives me good profit.anyway it better to trade long and short after watching the market movement i think.
I am a student. I am doing Forex business as short time job. I think that as a student Forex trading is the best part time job. Because i able to collect all of my hand expenses from Forex. Student life is life to study not to business so that I don't have much time to trade in Forex and I just work in Forex trade market for some hours a day and earn a huge money by trading that short time.
i think short term trading is save for small investment in forex and new beginner with long time trade someone without much money will not stand long term trading

Well I usually trade on LONG TERM cause it's completely risk free but when I got signal from my special indicator than I do a manual tally in on short frame like M5 and M1. If you want to do scalp than M5 is for you and for this type of trading you have to be 1000 times serious and you are about your dream girl. Cause, Scalping is a kind of challenge with your own. But I think as a human being you have also a lot work to do in your real life so, for this reason I wanna suggest you to do trade in H1 frame it's for professionals.
I always target long term trading but as a new my mind say just go for short term to get proper knowledge from here after getting that you be able to go for long term.
I accept long term trading.that is why in short time no profit grow or no experience grow in the forex market.in long term trading you may get a proper progress from trading. long term trading needs large capital investment and patience.

In my view I can not be a short time trader, but I always exit my trades soon and lost a lot of money. So I made a written trading plan, and take it seriously, then I found I can control myself, I advise this method in some other thread also I think.
I am Personally think that Short term or Long term both can be Profitable depend to Trader Experiences.. If you can not be Patience and feel so much Anxiety then you should Trade Short term, but if you don't have much time to observe the Chart, then you should be Long term Trader..
I think all depends on trader to trader.The various trader open and close trades daily,while other trader wait for some weeks or months to get good profit.I think the both ways of trading are good,and only the trader can choose one of them.
i think that it is the matter of the traders trading in this Forex trading market. but in general we can say that the long term Forex trading is more lasting term and more profitable.
I trade every day, and sometimes do scalping, depending on market circumstances that I faced. I will not be fixated on just one method of trading, because I was a trader is flexible. If I just focus on one method of trading, I often loss when the market does not fit with the style of trading that I have.

to this day I still do short term trading, because I have a daily target. Although it is quite difficult in daily trading, but I get more benefit if trading every day. And I'm also not the type that they want to wait too long in the open position.
I too like short term trading and its easy for me to handle it instead of long term. Long term trading is best for those who have big capital in trading account and can earn good profit in a single long term position, i have not big capital in my account so short term trading is best for me.

I think its also have great movement when its go down. personally i dont trade gold and silver but watch both price which have great movement when uptrend and downtrend . so its really risky with low capital if we wish for long.
If by short term trader you mean scalper then I will not agree with you. A trader with $50 can earn another $50 in two days if he trade well and follow the trend (consistent or ranging). To me that is good earning. You do not need to scalp to make good earning in forex trading.
