According to me, mt4 is best because it is used by most of the traders and it is universal and the indicators for mt4 are available in abundance while for mt5 there is not much indicator available and not everyone are trading with mt5.
well both platforms are almost similar but meta trader 5 obviously is new release so it does have few enhanced features and therefore it is the recommended platform but on the other hand there is no need for one who is currently on mt4 to switch over to mt5
