Sort term and long term trade both are important but some one choose sort term and some one choose long term trade. i think if you have lot of amount to trade in forex trading you open long term trade on the other hand if you are a newbie and have not lot amount that you open scalping or sort term trade because your amount is small so you should not get a risk and open scalping.
But I think short time trading is best for all medium traders, as they invest small money so they needs a small pips for regular basis, while they go for long time trade they should invest big money as per big changing safely to the market movement.

i so think, What kind of stuff should a trader put on a Trading Checklist? That depends on the individual trader. Each trader should have his or her own set of criteria that helps determine a market to trade and the direction to trade it--including when to get in. actually i like short because it may give quick profit but here risk also .
should always look in the direction of the trend is going to happen, if the trend is towards long then we have to be patient for a long trade
