short term trading have high risk in trading and needs good knowledge about forex trading market and long term trading is safe I prefer long term trading because in this there is greater chances of gaining profit in forex trading market
Long term trading is not so risky because the indicators signs more well than on lower timeframes. Altough higher timeframes gives you less entry points and exit point, but those point (if you follow them) gives you a lot more more money, too than on lower timeframe positions. Lower stress, less work, less risk, more profit, that is why I choosen higher timeframe trading, and longer positions.
I have recently come to this conclusion as well.
Trying to guess the direction of the Eur/Usd every few days I have MISSED the longer term picture and MISSED out on PROFIT.
I think longer term trading could be very enjoyable, slowly increasing your position as it moves in your favour.
With all of the information the major banks, and trading floors have in their favour, I'm starting to see that the average joe scalper/swing trader sitting infront of their home computer is blind as a bat compared to the big boys.
So why do it? It's FUN! All of you reading these forums I'm sure have a gambling side. Perhaps this is a major weakness??
However I am completely clueless for long term entry and stop loss strategies. I would have a difficult time stomaching a 100+ pip loss.
Can anyone recommend good reading material for longer term fx trading??
I like short term trading strategy, To me, it is the best for making profit when i use scalping. I often only enter and exit the market within about 20 - 30 minutes stay on market. M5 is my fovourite time frame.
I think that the trading system short term or long term, all this depends on the trade regime and system strategy that can control the trading system can easily change the trading system, whether was maintainence term or short-term change strategy that suits different trade conditions
for a beginner I think it would be younger long-term trading, it is easier to predict the market, compared with short-term trading is very risky, but it can benefit quickly. In this way we have to learn, such as scalping techniques and so on
Short term forex trading is called scalping and long term forex trading is called swing. I thank that a newbie forex trader should be use short term forex trading.
I think if traders can follow long term trading strategy, it is the best. Long term often use high time frame and it will provide traders good signals in trading, more over , it can make traders more patient in trading.
Certainly there are many traders that find very profitables on long termes as compared to short termes because on long term chart we can be analyzed in the better than short termes !!
