Long term trading could be so boring. Even with the long term trade one must have sufficient money in account else long term trading will be of no use. With short term trade you can make your profits in no time. Besides the swap is also a factor to consider while trading long term.
I have been trading in the forex market for about one and half year. I like short term trading in the forex market. I don't have a large capital to trade long term in the forex market. So trade always short term with my technical analysis knowledge. I would go for long term forex trading when I would have a good capital.
The number of part time traders in forex exceeds that of full time traders, that is why most traders still prefer short term trading strategies. More so, many traders are scalpers too.
Long term trading is the best and perfect trading, short term trading carries heavy risks and traders should try to go for long term trading that is the real trading. I am now switching from day trading to swing trading.
It depends on your strategy of trading, I prefer short term because a don't have enough of money, so this way is useful for me, i won't wait a long time before close my deals, if I have a big capital, i will be swinger of course .
I think short time techniques usually are far better for in your part time Forex traders, whilst long term techniques is going properly for the majority of full time Forex traders.
