It is possible to trade with forex market for long time and also short time. But if possible to invest more money then it is easy to continue with full time job. Forex trading is good for earning money in any where in the world and it can change life easily.
In my mind the different between long term and short term in trading context depend on period from open position to close if that period less than day its categorized as short but if more than day it will categorize long term what ever time frame their used term used in trading conditions may actually be more to the style and bustle so for those traders who have less time in front of the monitor will definitely prefer the long term because they are busy

It depends on the duration of time the trade is kept open but when I traded in shorterm I used minor trend which was captured in M30 and H1 but when I traded in longterm I used major trend which captured in H4 I waited until position became extreme level position in a month (the highest price level or the lowest price level) and I entry position waited untill several days even several weeks to get profit that is Short term want to always see the chart for the correct entry poin

it is better to trade in long terms,I always target long term trading but my emotions make me to close running trade which i planned for long term.
If you have an account with a large amount than long tern trading is suitable for you and if you have an account of small capital than short term trading suits you.

if you have a low capital then the best trading is a short time.because with low capital you do not open a trade long time otherwise you loss your money but best trading is a long time because with long time trading you have a big chance of big profit with trading.
