yea but a start of strong trend is found only when the BB is getting narrower and squeezing.
if BB is wider it means the trend started and price is moving.

usually ADX is a good indicator which will say the strength or trend.with addition to it MACD,Bollinger bands will help to identify a good trend.
well mostly its always wise to enter the market before the trend starts.Because if the BB has widened means the trend is strong.And if we enter trade,there might also be possibility for the trend to stop or reverse.so a compressed BB indicates soon a big trend is going to break out.
