in fact I consider the best value lot to open trading position is 5% of the equity. and that too is done by simply opening a trading position. so you still have a lot of margin for the rest of your defense. but should any open trading position, use strategies that you have shown yourself for accuracy. It depends on the capital.More capital we can open higher lot size.IF we are beginner then smaller lot with higher leverage will be better.We need to keep trading and learn from the every trade we do.More you trade with own money tha posibilty to learn more is higher.So keeping for long with lower lot size is a good idea.

it depends upon you account balance . i suggest you to use leverage anything less than 1:50,by this you have space for you trade not getting closed when it is in loss.sometimes in greed traders tends to use leverage of more than 1:200 and there is not enough balance remain in his account if his trade go on negative pips.
