Well, if you want to start any work you should have some experience about this work and Forex is also for those people who have great experience about trading in Forex market. We can learn Forex trading with demo account, we should do practice on demo account till three month and then we do work on Forex.
Of course, we must trade to learn forex trading. There are no traders who can be expert in forex trading if they never trade. Trade is the only way to be a good trader

I fully agree that practical experience is the best way to learn forex trading because a trader learns more in real market situations then just learning about forex trading from the literature.

you did not need to learn on real, but you can learn it by demo, because if you learn only by read without any practice i'm sure you will only be seminar teacher you will not be a trader if you only learn the theory
so practice, learning from day by day because forex market always change and always have new character in every time
