Minimum four to five months are required for demo trading account work before live in Forex. Demo work is skills and knowledge getting process. That experience is very benefited in future.

My friend I think demo account trading is always needed to get success in real trading and we all need to trade with proper analysis and we need to trade with proper understanding of the market, we know that without proper analysis we can not make good money at all. we need to keep trading at demo accounts to develop our trading skill and we should keep trading.
well of course, my dear I basically like to believe that this depends on your attitude how serious you are taking demo account obviously if you are working really hard and taking it really seriously than you should be ready within months to trade in real account and remember learning in forex once can give you rewards forever.
6 months or 1 year in my opinion would be too long, however, because we also need to practice the trade in a real account to train our psychology.
