I'm using both of them in my trading, sometimes i trade with short term trading, sometimes i use longterm trading. I can trade with short term trading if i have much time for trading but if i dont have much time for trading, then i will use longterm trading.
I think long term trading is better than short term trading because in long term trading a trader trades with low risk and gains little profit which is better than facing big loss in short term trading.

That depends on your strategy and your available time. Most people start Forex trading as part time because they have to study or work for the rest of the day so they prefer short term trading but if you trade full time, you can apply any strategy you want. I myself prefer long time because it gives you a chance to observe market more closely.
