(Kitco News) -The mining sector’s green revolution is getting some important support from the Canadian government.

Prime Minster Justin Trudeau announced a new incentive that makes it more affordable for Canadian miners to invest in zero-emission vehicles and automotive equipment.

Trudeau spoke at the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) 2020 annual conference on Monday.

The Canadian government will extend its zero emission vehicle incentive to include off-road vehicles. The initiative would provide a 100% write-off of the purchase cost of eligible zero-emission vehicles and automotive equipment in the year they are put in use.
