trailing stop never protect the profit trailing stop is big mistake in forex all trader know that this is volatile market and trailing stop does not work good only in long trend do you take a risk of your profit while you waiting trend to keep moving on.
It is not necessary to use trailing stop along with stop loss it's your own choice, you can use stop loss without trailing and move sl yourself as the position grows in your favour, like if initially you placed a stop of 50 pips than after the position moved +25-30 pips move it to breakeven i.e. at the price you opened the trade so that if the position reverse suddenly it should not be stopped out in negative or you can move it to +5 or any value of your choice but give trade room to breath if you want to carry on with the position and as positons moves up move the sl, as trailing stop sometimes moves very close to the the current rate and many times you will be stopped out in profit but than you see it was just a small retracement and the price again moved in your favour which could have given you more pips.
The trailing stop is better than stoploss take profit method. There are two advantages which i learn using this trailing method. The first is trailing is more easy to use, trailing no need to modified many times like stoploss , they always follow the running price so, it's more comfort. The second is stoploss can't lock your profit. This is different with trailing who can automatically lock profit. So, even the TP point not reach you can still get profit.
Stop using trailing stop loss sounds complicated. but clearly this is one way to minimize losses is also effective. If we know how to use it we can even lock it at a profit. and it will definitely benefit the trader.
For your kind information trail stop works even your computer is turn off because the order is set in the instaforex server not in your computer. thats why trail stop will help in maximizing the profit if there is a breakout
