Nepal is definitely an instagramable land. Kathmandu as the capital city has a magnetic charm. Nepal's exoticism has not diminished, even though the great earthquake that hit Nepal in 2015 damaged many things. Many tourist objects can be visited when landing in Kathmandu, one of the old cities located in the Kathmandu Valley. The Kathmandu Valley has three regions, namely Khatmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur. The three areas are close together, have beautiful tourist objects and are easy to reach. It is not surprising that there are often films in the background, including a Marvel Studio product entitled Doctor Strage.

Holidays to Nepal are very popular among nature lovers, trekking enthusiasts and mountain climbers. At least, spending time trekking to Everest Basecamp is the main goal of a vacation for nature lovers. For those of you who are planning to trek to Everest Basecamp or maybe stop by Tibet, go with a large group of members. Prepare for vacation time of at least 14 days or two weeks.

Because, to get to Everest Basecamp and Tibet also requires a long time. In addition, it is not easy to get permission to enter Tibet since it is a forbidden city.

This is a place you can't possibly miss. Thamel is the center of many activities ranging from rows of souvenir shops, inns, to cafes. Most of them occupy buildings that look very old, some are even leaning forward (supported by poles) and some still have short doors. Everything looks beautiful with stripped paint or just bare bricks, dust, rickshaws, taxis with old-fashioned cars, electric cables milling about, traditional food vendors, and people passing by. Thamel is a paradise for tourists. Not only for shopping, but also for interacting with local people.

1:Boudhanath Stupa, Kathmandu Overview


Situated at a distance of about 11 kilometres from the city centre of Kathmandu, Boudhanath Stupa dominates the Kathmandu skyline with its gargantuan spherical shape. Thousands of pilgrims from different religions gather here daily. They perform a ritualistic circumnavigation, known as the 'kora', of the colossal dome. It is believed that anyone who circumambulates the stupa with no ill thoughts in their hearts receives good karma. Moreover, the gates of hell are permanently closed for them!

The massive mandala of this magisterial stupa makes it the largest in Nepal and the continent. In1979, Boudhanath Stupa was honoured as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Boudhanath Stupa has acquired several names throughout the years, including the Buddha Stupa, Chorten Chempo, Chaitya, Jarung Khashor, and the Khasti. The entire complex of the stupa houses 50 Tibetan convents, known as gompas, which have been acting as shelters for the Tibetan refugees since 1959. This stupa is said to be the spot where the remains of Kassapa Buddha lay in rest.

Tourism

Tourism*is considered another important industry in Nepal. This industry started around 1950, as the country's political makeup changed and ended the country's isolation from the rest of the world. In 1956, air transportation was established and the*Tribhuvan Highway, between Kathmandu and*Raxaul*(at India's border), was started. Separate organizations were created in Kathmandu to promote this activity; some of these include the*Tourism Development Board, the Department of Tourism and the*Civil Aviation Department. Furthermore, Nepal became a member of several international tourist associations. Establishing diplomatic relations with other nations further accentuated this activity.*

Sport

Football*and*cricket*are the most popular sports among the younger generation in Nepal and there are several stadiums in the city.[115]*The sport is governed by the*National Sports Council*from its headquarters in Kathmandu. The only international football stadium in the city is the*Dasharath Rangasala, a*multi-purpose stadium*used mostly for football matches and cultural events, in the neighbourhood of Tripureshwor. It is the largest stadium in Nepal with a capacity of 25,000 spectators, built in 1956.*Martyr's Memorial League*is also held in this ground every year.*

Kathmandu Capital of Nepal

Kathmandu, Nepal's capital, is set in a valley surrounded by the Himalayan mountains. At the heart of the old city’s mazelike alleys is Durbar Square, which becomes frenetic during Indra Jatra, a religious festival featuring masked dances. Many of the city's historic sites were damaged or destroyed by a 2015 earthquake. Durbar Square's palace, Hanuman Dhoka, and Kasthamandap, a wooden Hindu temple, are being rebuilt.

Kathmandu is particularly famous for its religious monuments. Various temples, monasteries, and stupas adorn the city's landscape, particularly the Pashupatinath Temple and the Changu Narayan which are famous for their stunning, intricate religious artworks.

Kathmandu is a fairly safe city, but what it lacks in dangers it more than makes up for in annoyances: The combination of ancient vehicles, low-quality fuel and lack of emission controls makes the streets of Kathmandu particularly polluted, noisy and unpleasant.

The country's cultural and geographic diversity provides ample space for a variety of cuisines based on ethnicity and on soil and climate. Nevertheless, dal-bhat-tarkari (Nepali: दाल भात तरकारी) is eaten throughout the country. Dal is a soup made of lentils and spices.

I took my wife and child for a city tour in Kathmandu. The destination of the tour is exactly the same as the one I went to with Vira, namely Swayambhu temple, Patan Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple and Boudanath temple. However, in order not to get bored, in this visit we took a different theme. If on my first visit with my eldest, I took the theme of places related to the Tintin comic in Tibet, on this visit my youngest and I looked for locations that are used as locations for the shooting of the Marvel superhero film, Dr. Strange. I myself have not watched Dr. Strange, but the kids have watched it, and he's excited to find the locations used in the Dr. Strange. From the results of googling, it turns out that the main tourist spots in Kathmandu that we will visit are almost all used as shooting locations, especially Patan Durbar Square and Pashupatinath temple.

Our first destination is Swayambunath temple. Actually this location is also used in one of the scenes in the dr. Strange, but because we were cool taking pictures and buying souvenirs while there, we forgot to look for the location used in Dr. Strange, so even though we were already there, couldn't remember to act like a scene in a movie.

Our second destination that afternoon to Patan Durbar Square. When I got there it was 12.30pm, we had lunch at the same place I visited with Vira a few days earlier, the menu was the same. After lunch, we entered the Patan Durbar Square area, by buying an NR entrance ticket 1.ooo per person. Behind this ticket booth, there is a small shrine. This temple is used as a scene in the film Dr. Strange. my son asked me to make a photo in a style similar to a scene in a movie, after that I also made a similar photo. From this small temple we continued to the Patan museum, to take a photo in the museum window, which is also one of the scenes in the film.

We continued our journey to Pashupatinath temple. When we got there, at the main shrine in Kathmandu, the cremation of many people who had died was taking place. If in the previous visit I only saw 3 cremation processions in progress, that afternoon there were 6 cremations in progress. After witnessing the cremation process, we continued our exploration of the Pashupatinath temple, and didn't forget to try to make a photo following the Dr, Strange film scene in this location.

अचानक मेरे टूर गाइड ने मुझे उनका पीछा करने के लिए कहा और उसने दूल्हा और दुल्हन को मेरे साथ एक फोटो लेने के लिए कहा! एक दुल्हन की तरह लग रहा है जो विशेष रूप से जकार्ता से आया था!
